EasyStart™ is a one-of-a-kind, custom developed soft starter for single-phase motors like those used in the home and commercial contexts. It employs a 4-part start ramp sequence that is self-optimizing, resulting in the lowest possible start-up current. EasyStart can deliver a start current reduction of up to 75% of a compressor's LRA (locked-rotor amperage). EasyStart is the perfect solution that allows an air conditioner or refrigeration compressor to operate on a generator, inverter, or limited utility power when it would otherwise not have functioned. It can also be applied to air compressors and fluid pump motors.
Two product variants support 2 to 3.5 ton (19,000 – 42,000) air conditioning units and 4 to 6 ton (43,000 to 72,000) A/C units.

Fast shipping from Hutch and the included Wago pieces are a nice bonus though the sheet metal screws could be 1/8" longer. Installation was routine after I learned how to read the wiring diagram for my unit...which I'd never looked at before. This video was very helpful:

At first startup I could tell by the compressor sound that the EasyStart was working, and starting amps were cut by 60%. So a great unit hopefully with many years of service.

Amazing!
I was really excited to install the Easy Start on my home A/C after doing so on my RV A/C. My friend is the mastermind behind all this so I just did what he told me to do! What a difference it made! Installation instructions were easy to follow and not hard to accomplish (Again I did as I was told by my friend). It will be interesting to see the difference over the summer when it gets a work out and to see what type of cost savings we might get. Thank you for such great product and the excellent service!

Great Product
I purchased the EasyStart soft starter kit in the hopes that my purchased generator would be able to finally run when the heat pump kicked on and the start up amps were very high, which it normally kicked the generator unit off. The soft start kit was able to reduce those start up amps low enough that the generator is able to run now and I did not have to purchase a larger unit. The product did everything I could have expected and I'm grateful it's such a great product. The customer service rep-Scott, was an excellent person to work with on the phone and help me with some issues. Would recommend this product to anyone!
