The majority of portable generators have what they call a floating neutral. RV electrical protection will detect this as an open ground condition and not allow power to pass through. In order to make this work, insert the Hutch Mountain Generator Neutral-Ground Bonding Plug into a 15 Amp plug on the generator panel. This will create a neutral-to-ground connection and the open ground condition should resolve itself. Please check the owner’s manual of the generator to make sure the generator was created with a floating neutral.
